Narodil som sa 9. decembra 1960 v Nových Zámkoch. Absolvoval som Matematicko--fyzikálnu fakultu UK v Bratislave, zameranie matematická analýza, ktorú som ukončil v
roku 1985 s titulom RNDr. Od roku 1985 som zamestnancom Matematického ústavu SAV v Bratislave. Od roku 1995 pracujem aj na Katedre matematickej analýzy a numerickej matematiky FMFI UK Bratislava. V roku 1993 som obhájil svoju disertačnú prácu z dynamických systémov. Docentom som sa stal v roku 2000, titul DrSc. som dostal v roku 2001 a profesorom v roku 2006.
